Last Exile review ( one of the best steampunk anime )

  Year :2003 ( there is season 2 / 2011)
Episodes : 26 episodes
Genre : Adventure , Steampunk, Fantasy
Plot:

The story starts with two children Claus Valca and Lavie Head , they work as air deliverers with their old vanship they inherited from their deceased fathers.  All action develops in a fiction world where two nations Anatoray and Disith are engaged in an armed conflict . There is a Guild that provides  high technologies to this two nations in their war but it seems their intentions are not so neutral and good as they seem , instead they intend to dominate and capture both sides . The backgrounds , ships and clothes  are very much inspired by steampunk old books , here you can see a lot of interesting industrial and flight machines . During episodes  is shown that in this society people are very much constrained by army grades and nobility and sometimes do unreasonable actions because of it. Claus Valca and his navigator Lavie Head are one of the best sky couriers , even so since they are children and do own a very old vanship they take only low grade easy missions , once they  take a mission to transport  a girl and all their life turns in a wild adventure .  In this anime is very well related fear and emotions of personages , as an example in first episodes you can see how terrified was Mullin Shetland , a simple soldier on one of Anatoray ( Anatolya ) fleet flagship. In the anime they have to use old type weapons , it is pretty strange since they use pretty well developed  flying ships .

The music in this anime is very nice , the strong characters and interesting plot make this anime  pleasant  to watch , there are some very touching moments , unshared love and amazing devotion.
  Main characters :

Claus Valca

Lavie Head
